I am an amateur developer using WordPress to create my own website for advertising Yoga course and also increasingly for other small businesses.
I have always developed online, i.e without setting up a local host server.
I have searched far and wide for something that will give me an understanding of setting up a local development environment that I can use to more quickly modify designs and easily refresh for testing and then also quickly update to the remote(live) site.
I do a lot of landing page testing and CSS styling so I need both styling and content work.
Because of the database that powers WordPress, I have become very confused on how to set up the process for synchronising a local WordPress install with a live site. I’d appreciate any help in the right direction.
I have a version of dream weaver and also Mamp and am on a mac.
