Updraft Plus backup to Google Drive fails with “Account is not authorized.”

A bit about my environment:

  • UpdraftPlus 1.13.1
  • WordPress 4.7.5
  • PHP 5.6 CGI
  • DreamHost shared hosting

I configured UpdraftPlus, enabled the Drive API and created a Drive API project as described at https://updraftplus.com/support/configuring-google-drive-api-access-in-updraftplus. The web application is authorized to view/manage the files in my Drive.

Authorized App

During the first backup attempt, messages in UpdraftPlus Current Status would appear, indicating an authorization problem with Google Drive. During the backup process, the message appeared/disappeared a few times. But since the job completed (unsuccessfully), this remains in Current Status:

Google Drive: Account is not authorized.

While the first backup attempt was still running, a folder, UpdraftPlus, was created in my Google Drive. I did not create the folder. But no files appeared in the folder–it remains empty.

You can see the (anonymized) UpdraftPlus log here.

This is for a new/clean UpdraftPlus installation.

Thank you!
