Martin,
I love your “Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails” – truly makes my site design pop.
One glitch: The thumbnail image cropping feature of the widget is not working on one of my sites.
Essentially: instead of cropping the thumbnail, the widget simply reduces the size of the image proportionally.
Here’s what the uncropped thumbnails look like:
I’m using WordPress 4.6.1 on the site, and the TwentyFourteen theme. I’m running version 4.13 of your widget, and have these options of your widget running:
*Display post featured
*Size of thumbnail: Specified width and height
*Width of thumbnail: 100
*Height of thumbnail: 100
*Use aspect ratios of original image
*URL of default thumbnail: http://www.limeshows.com/wp-content/plugins/recent-posts-widget-with-thumbnails/default_thumb.gif
I’ve tried changing some of the variables to:
*Size of thumbnail: Thumbnail 100 x 100
*Unchecking “Use aspect ratios of original images”
Result: No change in performance
One final note: I keep a backup version of the same, exact site, with the same exact posts, and same, exact settings, and your widget works fine there. The site also uses the same exact version of your widget, version 4.13. The only difference is I’m using WordPress 4.5.4 on that backup site. Here’s the backup site:
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
